Q.  Is ReadAct like MBO (Management By Objectives) and Quality Circles?  We used those for awhile and some of our people felt manipulated.  They just kind of faded away after awhile.

A.  When a nail is bent, the carpenter can blame his hammer, but we know who is accountable for applying the tool.  MBO and Quality Circles can be very effective tools when applied well.  ReadAct might lead you to use either one of them in its appropriate place.  Read Act is bigger than a tool, it is a system.  It can be applied to whole endeavors or any part of one.  It is a whole laboratory full of tools for diagnosis and assessment, prescription of corrective action and appropriate record keeping along the way.  Since ReadAct is done by people rather than done to people, people feel empowered by ReadAct, not manipulated by it.
